Niiiice.  Rock on
Do you get the bike nice and toasty in the van and then kick it, or do you just kick that frozen ***** in the back of your truck until it clanks to life?

Are you planning to run them on the street or ice only? Those won't work on the street very well as they will wear out very quick and won't work on dry pavement very well.

ONLY on the ice, they have been sharpened and that would disappear in 2 sec's if they saw pavement. For those guys that store thier bikes inside, they REALLY hook up on the carpet!!! Rock on

Hey Vince, what do you have on the inside of that ice tire?  Are you guys still lining a dirt tire with a worn out 17" street front tire, or have you got some other method now?  How do you keep the points of the screws from ruining the inner tube?

Depending on the length of the screws, and thickness of the used tire you put inside I will put 1 or 2 tires inside, a few wood screws are used to hold them in place during installation(see picture). Then I machine the tire in my lathe to my optimum profile for a road course track, oval tracks are machined with a predominant left profile. Fronts usually dont get machined and they use about 700 screws, rears take about 1250 screws. Patterns and angles are critical, and making 2 'exactly' the same is very difficult, but when you get it right hang on!! Rock on Rock on Rock on

Where did you get the screws?  Last year I phoned around here and they were A LOT more then what my buddy paid for them in Saskatoon.     Was hoping to find some cheap ones as they varied in price, but all a lot more then stooners prices.

I talked to some buddies here and they said Ghost lake is great for riding the dirt bikes on in the winter.  I am goign to check to see if somebody clears a track.  Then its go time when the chinooks move in!
