here's my little problem i ran into with SGI . yesterday i went to talk to my adjuster to find out when i could get my bike looked at when she told me i might not be covered at all . the only reason being is because i was on a highway that had a speed limit posted over 80km/h, but if you think about it what highway has a posted speed limit of 80 ? . maybe one or two but just to get them you gotta use the primary's anyways it don't make sense. has anyone elese heard of this because i went to alsport after SGI n nobody really has ever heard of it they were shocked to hear i might not be covered , but if i'm not STEETFIGHTER here i come   Rock on

Did your adjuster go on two consecutive maternity leaves?

Quote
A “6” endorsement on a Class 1 - 7 license is an authority for the operation of a motorcycle for learning purposes only and holders are subject to the following restrictions:

they may not operate a motorcycle from half an hour after sunset until half an hour before sunrise;
they may not carry passengers;
they must operate within a 100 km radius of the address shown on their driver’s license.

Back when I got my learners in 99, it used to be limited to a 10km radius outside of the address shown on my license, and you couldn't go on any roads with posted speed limits of over 80km/h (so no Ring Road for me back then).  A few years ago they made the restrictions a little more lenient though.

they must have just done that like 1-2 years ago, i have had my learners now for 2 years, and they changed it during that time frame.

There used to be a restriction that anyone with a simple class 6 license could only ride during the day, have no passengers, and could not travel on roads with a posted speed limit in excess of 80km/hr. As far as I know, and according to the SGI handbook, this last restriction has been lifted and has been replaced with one limiting the operator to within 100 km of the address shown on the licence.

If you meet those three conditions I would expect that you would be covered.

Yeah ur totally covered. The new leaners states u can travel 100 km's from the address shown on ur license, however u cannot travel at night, or with a passenger.

So if that SGI adjuster is giving u a hard time.. u smack her and tell her to learn SGI policies because she works there.

1) your adjuster is a ****-tard.
2) as said, it used to be like that, but sgi realized "hey. we sure are stupid ******* because the only highways with an 80km/h speed limit are going to be gravel. 80km/h is the "default" speed limit for a highway. if its un-marked as being a different speed limit, you are to assume its 80km/h. the are VERY few posted at 80km/h, leaving you with gravel roads. with a sportbike. lets all start ONLY taking the gravel out to the beach and see how claims SGI gets then... but yeah, it changed like those guys said thankfully.
