I know this isn't The Saskatchewan Scooter Association lol. But I've had a Ruckus for over a year and plan on going for my M on it this spring so I can ride at night. So I would end up with an Endorsement M Restriction J. As far as I can tell from http://www.sgi.sk.ca/sgi_pub/instructional/motorcycledrivers/2009/15.pdf it would be an M with a restriction of less than 50cc's. I would assume road test would be pretty easy on this bad boy...no gears etc. It would generally be blocking poisitons, shoulder checking the usual. I already read ALL of the threads about the drivers test....

But I have one question have any of you ever heard of someone getting an M on a scooter? or a 50/49cc scooter? I don't ride a bike or have one to take it on so Ruckus all the way...

I can look into that. It's possible you may be restricted to automatic/cetrifugal drive bikes as well.

Thanks! I'm more or less just wondering what's involved and what the differences are in road tests etc. because I don't know anyone who has done it.

I would think the test would be exactly the same.

is probably the same - but I kinda hope not.  If your testing on a scooter then it should be a given you don't have a bike.  There should be restricitions limiting you to the city only and only on a scooter.   Thats my personal opinion though.  I know some guys do take they're scooters on the highway.

You obviously didn't read the OP. Of course a 49cc scooter would limit you to the city and not the hwy.....think about it for a second. The restriction limits you to a 49cc motowhatever.....again read OP. You obviously can't take a scooter for your test then get on a bike with the licence you receive.

calm down !

I actually read it twice  .   It doesn't make any mention of highway riding.  Not gonna get into it if your just looking for a fight  thumbs
I did make mention of "you should be limited to scooter" or something like that.  Being its already mentioned  - I guess I didn't need to say it again.

Ruckus is fun. There's really no other way to explain it. Modding it is what's really fun. Possibilities are endless.

If you take the test on your scooter the only thing you will be restricted to is you can't be on anything over 50cc. Scooter is looked at as being the same as a bike. You can get a 600cc scooter that people use on the highway. You could take your ruckus to regina once you have your license, but I wouldn't really recommend it. Your best bet would be to find someone with a little Honda CBR125 to take your test on if you know how to ride a bike with a clutch and gears type thing then you won't have any restrictions on your license and make things easier in the future if you want to ride something bigger or somehow modify your ruckus to be over 50cc. If you really need one I might be able to convice the old lady to lend you her CBR125. I've been using it all winter an will probably have to buy it off of her anyways!!

Bike wise I have only ridden a dirt bike a few times about 10 years ago. So I would really need to ride a bike for a while to practice before going for M on one. Couldn't just borrow one for the day and be good to go. I think I'll just go on my Ruckus and go again if I get something bigger. Once you've done the test once Im sure it would be a piece of cake the second time.

Ok, so straight from the mouth of SGI Driver Examinations: If you take the test on a 50cc automatic scooter, you will have an M (J) which restricts you to 50cc engines.  There would be no restrictions on transmission type, and you would still be allowed to operate other motorcycles as a learner, meaning no passengers, within 100km of home or a registered secondary address, and during daylight hours with 30 minutes grace on either side of sunup/sundown.
