March 7th, and probably the last one for the Rathole track.  It was pretty wet when we arrived and there was six to eight inches of standing water in the pits when we left.

All the bikes out there this year are mx or xc bikes.  Engine size varies from 125cc two strokes to 450cc four strokes mainly, but there's even one 500cc two stroke and one 505cc four stroke prowling around out there.

This year there's also been a kid, Milan Jablan, on an 85cc two stroke and he's pretty **** quick.

How would mini road race bikes translate to the ice?  Would it be worthwhile to try and source some studded 12" tires for my thumper class 125cc 4 stroke?

If it ain't broke...wait 3 laps.

If you had an appropriate sized track and some other people interested in trying it, why not?

But, you'd probably have to maintain the track to keep it smooth.  The MX bikes do well because they can handle how rough the surface gets fairly well, but soreness can still be an issue.  Stiffer suspension with less travel could make for some sore bodies.
