Now let's hope Art gets his lease!  I'd like to ride there again as well.

The City of Calgary (council and city managers) are playing a little dirty.  Since they had to renew the lease, they decided to increase it by 3000%.  So the saga continues.  This was the situation several months ago.  Not sure if anyone has an update.

There's a good thread going on about this on DUCWC (lots of Ducati cup guys), but the site's currently taking a dump. I'll link it once it's back up.

I get to stay with family.

But if you're interested in going, I'll have room in the truck/trailer.

Too bad that Race City is going trough some rough times. MRA from Manitoba has a very good track day program and they also have Advanced Racer Schools. They charge only $100 for track day and for extra $40 you get to ride on Sunday between races, and you can also race as long as your bike is safety wired. When I took my first track day at Gimli they walked the track with students, during first session two instructors rode with us monitoring progress of each student. Between sessions instructors would talk to students giving them advice on how to improve. I also attended Michell Mercier (speling) racing school in Calgary, and numerous track days in Western Canada and California. In my opinion MRA guys have done an awesome job and to get to ride two days with the instructor monitoring you, plus you can race and all of that for $140.Gimli's surface is not as smooth as Race City, the track is a little shorter top speed is around 250km/h VS 280km/h (Race City). You do not have to worry about concrete walls at Gimli and pavement provides lot of traction. Also they change direction every other race weekend which helps with tire wear, and it is like riding two different race tracks.Camping is free.

Just something to consider.
