Well thursday was a nice day for all you with the day off like me, but then it wasnt so nice.  I had just got my hair cut and washed the bike as i was heading downtown towards Broadway on the Broadway bridge.  While i was admiring the view the traffic ahead of me had stopped, next thing i knew i was slamming the brakes and heading for a car.  The bike went down on the left side and the top of my head conected with the ladys bumper dead on.  Still in shock of course i got up to move my bike away when i noticed the shift pedal was laying on the road.   I then waited for the cops and ambulance to arrive.  Tho one thing is good, all i was wearing was a wifebeater and boardshorst and came away with nothing more than a few minor spots of road rashe and i stiff neck.  The bike will very likely be written off in my 5th month of riding .  But to all the rest of you still with bikes, keep your head up and pay attention or your bike may meet the same fate as mine. Ride careful guys Wink

That sucks, atleast you weren't hurt

I have almost done the same thing, looking around on the bridge instead of the road.

you can say that again.  the closest i've come to crashing this year was because of that.  slammed on the front binders so hard the back mustave lifted at least a little, and i stopped about  3/16" away from the car in front of me's rear bumper.  that must have looked so cool.  i don't know why she dinnae stop.
