Meh...gives us something to moan...I mean talk about.

LMAO

Everyone that wants their motorcycle license should be forced to ride a Honda NS50 for a month...if you don't die, you can have your license as a reward!

hehe

I was pretty upset about the cell phone ban as well - but after two months - I will admit I am a safer driver.  Do I still do it? yaaa   but I try not to, and if i don't have to, I'll wait.  If I'm in traffic or in a residential - I probably wont' use it.
If there was  a cc restriction  -  I'd be upset - but I can see how the benefits outway the disadvantages.    I would really like to see the manufacturers step up with some better - lower CC bikes.  Honda's 125 cbr has been a massive success.   I wish the rest would put out some more 250's.   Kawi's 500cc ninja is an awesome trainer.   But thats really only two bikes - and very different bikes at that.
Alos-  something i'm really cheesed about - the 500 appears to be dead - only 2009 available - no 2010.

the 250 - maybe the replacement for the 500?

If there was  a cc restriction  -  I'd be upset - but I can see how the benefits outway the disadvantages.    I would really like to see the manufacturers step up with some better - lower CC bikes.  Honda's 125 cbr has been a massive success.   I wish the rest would put out some more 250's.   Kawi's 500cc ninja is an awesome trainer.   But thats really only two bikes - and very different bikes at that.

In Europe and other markets where they have the restriction, there are a lot of smaller cc bikes, from the same manufacturers that distribute bikes here. If several jurisdictions (big ones. Like two or three large US states) start putting in the cc restrictions, these bikes will start showing up at dealers here. And the 125/250s that are available here will come in larger batches.

But it's a terrible catch-22. If the law-makers don't put in the restriction, there won't be these bikes around. If they put the restriction on, where are new riders gonna get bikes? The re-sale price of under-limit bikes will skyrocket due to high demand, and it will take time for there to be enough new/resale bikes in the market.

This has nothing to do with the current conversation, but in the next few months SGI will most likely start developing the system to handle the GDL program. I'm hoping to get myself on the project so I can provide better insight into the details of the program (of what I am allowed to anyway).

they won't even have to require proof of training... if you don't smell like 2 stroke when you walk in you don't get your license. Tongue

The perfect bikes are being built, they're not being imported into Canada or the US.

good find!

your right - there are bikes out there - but we can't get em.   The ninja 250 is where they should be looking.  Still a very modern looking bike.  I'll admit it - as great for learning as those bikes you posted are - i'm not gonna fork out cash for a bike that looks 30 years old  dunno ( and perhaps - there in lies the problem - ego = failure)

a nice bike - would probably be given the "trainer" tag- but is something you could go anywhere with and keep for a few years.   Anyone that was interested in the 500 ninja - this would be its competition.
